Mr. Nazmul Hassan MP, Managing Director of Shinepukur Ceramics Ltd, received this 'D&B Corporate Award' from the Chief Guest Mr. Dilip Borua, Honorable Minister for Industries, in an exclusive award giving ceremony of Dun & Bradstreet, which was held at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) - Celebrity Hall on Thursday, 03 November 2011. Honorable Commerce Minister Mr. Mohammad Faruk Khan MP was also present as Special Guest. On behalf of SCL, few other high officials of the company were also present in this award giving ceremony.

On this occasion, Mr. Nazmul Hassan MP, Managing Director said, 'SCL considers D&B Corporate Award as an extraordinary recognition and milestone achievement for the company. The Company is serving the nation's economy by producing and exporting world class ceramic tableware since 1999. D&B Corporate award is another milestone achievement not only for the company but for the whole nation.' He also mentioned that Shinepukur Ceramics Ltd. contributes more than 60% of the total national Ceramic Tableware export from Bangladesh. SCL is the only ceramic tableware manufacturer of the country to receive National Export Trophy (Gold) -the highest national accolade for record three (3) times from the Govt. of Bangladesh for highest export made during the period. SCL was also acclaimed as "Superbrands" company last year.

The Managing Director of SCL also said that 'since its inception, Shinepukur Ceramics has always been a very successful brand both home and abroad. Today, Shinepukur exports its world class ceramic products to more than 35 countries including USA, Canada, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Norway, Turkey, Australia, UAE, Egypt, Brazil, Chile, India etc. To meet its ever growing demand, SCL is continuously making investments in improving its quality and in expanding its production capacity.'

It is worth mentioning that Shinepukur Ceramics Ltd is a Beximco Company having ISO 9001: 2008 status and it is a public limited company listed on the DSE and CSE.

Dr. Mohammad Abdur Razzaque and the Ukrainian Minister along with the delegation team took a detailed trip to the Bone China and Porcelain Tableware production area of Shinepukur Ceramics Ltd. They became highly pleased to see SCL’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, production of world class Ceramic Tableware and highly skilled people working in the Plant. They also took good note about SCL’s current extensive export business with the world’s top-ranked customers and its relentless contribution to Bangladesh’s economy.

It is expected that a great opportunity to export Ceramic Tableware to the growing Ukrainian market will be opened up through this visit. It is worth mentioning that currently SCL exports mostly to USA and European markets.

Among the others from Ukraine side, Mr. Ihor Filipenko, Advisor to the Minister; Mr. Taras Kachka, Director of the Directorate of Foreign Economic Relations; Mr. Anatolli Rozgon, Director of the Directorate of Agrarian Market Development, Mr. Serhi Bilohub, Counselor of the Embassy of Ukraine and from Bangladesh side Mr. A. Awal Howlader, Additional Secretary of Food Division of the Ministry of Food and Disaster Management and Mr. Khandoker Atiar Rohman, Joint Secretary were also present during the visit.

In a major expansion move, Shinepukur Ceramics Ltd (SPCL), a fully export oriented subsidiary of Beximco Group, today signed an MOU with a German company for setting up an expansion unit of bone china.

Mr. Nazmul Hassan Chairman Shinepukur Ceramics Ltd (SPCL) and Konrad Schmidling,Managing Director of Ceramic Info Center, Germany signed the agreement at Beximco Corporate Headquarter in Dhaka.

The MOU aims at supply erection and Commissioning of SPCL’s bone china expansion unit to be set up at Beximco Industrial Park having a capacity of 4.5MT per day. The Expansion Will increase production capacity to the Tune of 150 percent over present bone china Production capacity.

The expansion project will be completed By October 2009 at an estimated cost of Tk 80 crore which will entirely be financed by Bangladesh Export Import Co. Ltd. (BEXIMCO), the parent company of SPCL.

Once the expansion project is completed additional export sales of Tk 110 crores and net profit of Tk 20 crores is expected.

Shinepukur Ceramics is the single Largest Exporter of ceramic tableware of Bangladesh and contributing around 50 percent of the total export of tableware from Bangladesh.

Shinepukur Ceramics Ltd, equipped with the state of the art machineries, has two independent units producing high quality Porcelain, Alumina Hotel Ware, Ivory China and Bone China Tableware. The Porcelain unit has a Capacity of 65,000 pieces.
